House moves in Clifton, York
Clifton mixes Victorian terraces, later estates and flats near the hospital approach. Our Fenwick Street base sits south of the river, so we plan the Shipton Road and Water End stops before we arrive.

Directions from Clifton to our York base
Clifton is a short run north of the city centre, yet access still decides the day. Streets off Clifton Green, Water End and Shipton Road mix terrace fronts with drives and short turning heads. Flats near the hospital corridor need the same lift and stair detail as a city centre block. Our Fenwick Street base is about two miles away across the river, so the journey is short once the stop is planned.
Shipton Road carries traffic towards Rawcliffe and the A19. School runs and hospital shift changes thicken Wigginton Road. Tell us if the only legal stop is around the corner, or if a ResPark bay needs a temporary suspension through City of York Council. We would rather send a smaller van and make a second trip than block a narrow terrace street.
Most Clifton postcodes sit in YO30. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book. A one-bed flat often suits man and van. A family house needs the inventory, parking notes and any loft or piano detail before we set the time. Packing help is available if you want boxes wrapped ahead of the load.
Local landmarks help when you describe the entrance. Homestead Park sits between Water End and Shipton Road. York Cricket Club at Clifton Park adds parked cars on match Saturdays. Clifton Explore on Rawcliffe Drive is a handy place for wifi while broadband is set up. If you are clearing out before completion, book Hazel Court and check whether your vehicle needs a tip permit.
Useful contacts on this page cover City of York Council, parking permits, North Yorkshire Police, York Hospital and local libraries or parks. Use those official links for bins, school places and tip bookings. For the move itself, call 01904599132 and we will talk through the load, the van size and the best time to start from Fenwick Street.
When you request a quote, include both postcodes, the property type, and any access notes such as stairs, lifts, narrow lanes or ResPark bays. We work from 14 Fenwick Street, York YO23 1JR, and we are open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours. A clear brief on the day you call helps us send the right van and crew without guessing on the kerb.
See house removals for a full home move, or flat removals for stairs and lifts. We also cover Rawcliffe and Bootham, and nearby Heworth. Call 01904599132 for a free quote from 14 Fenwick Street.

Moving in Clifton: common questions
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours, from 00:00 to 23:59. Call 01904599132 any time for a free quote.
Can a large van get down Clifton side streets?
Often yes, but parked cars on both sides can leave a tight gap. A photo of the road and the drive helps us send the right vehicle. Call 01904599132 with the details.
Does York Hospital traffic affect a Clifton move?
Wigginton Road and the hospital approaches are busier at shift change. If your keys are released mid-afternoon, say so and we can look at an earlier start.
