Directions from Woodthorpe to our York base
Woodthorpe is a south-west York estate neighbourhood of semis, drives and cul-de-sacs, sitting between Acomb and Dringhouses. Most streets are van-friendly until evening parking fills the turning heads. We start from 14 Fenwick Street, about two miles away, so the job turns on access notes rather than a long road haul.
Tell us if the driveway slopes, if cars park opposite the gate, or if a flat only has stairs. ResPark is less common here than in the centre, but permit streets still need City of York Council checks. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book. Storage helps when you need a gap between addresses.
Postcodes are mainly YO24. A one-bed or a part-load suits man and van. A family house needs packing for kitchen and fragile items if you want a clean handover day. Furniture-only moves are fine when you are refreshing rooms rather than relocating everything.
Acomb Explore is the practical library hub on this side of the city. West Bank Park in Holgate is a nearby listed park. For rail travel, York station remains the main hub even though Woodthorpe sits away from the platforms. School places go through City of York Council admissions. If you are also clearing a garage, book Hazel Court before the load day.
Useful contacts on this page cover City of York Council, parking permits, North Yorkshire Police, York Hospital and local libraries or parks. Use those official links for bins, school places and tip bookings. For the move itself, call 01904599132 and we will talk through the load, the van size and the best time to start from Fenwick Street.
When you request a quote, include both postcodes, the property type, and any access notes such as stairs, lifts, narrow lanes or ResPark bays. We work from 14 Fenwick Street, York YO23 1JR, and we are open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours. A clear brief on the day you call helps us send the right van and crew without guessing on the kerb.
See house removals and flat removals. We also cover Acomb, Dringhouses and Copmanthorpe. Call 01904599132 for a free quote.
